About Garrett

Hi! I’m Garrett!

Let me guess… You currently have about five different therapist tabs open, trying to figure out who is actually going to “get” you, who won’t just nod and ask “and how does that make you feel?” for forty-five minutes.

If you’re looking for a different type of therapy, one that challenges your belief system, behavioral patterns, and nervous system, look no further!

Who I Work With & How I Work

I work with adults and adolescents who are tired of feeling betrayed by their own brains. You might be carrying old family trauma, struggling with unstable relationships, or feeling totally nonfunctioning with your ADHD brain.

My goal isn’t just to sit there staring at you, teach you a breathing exercise, and send you on your way. I’m interested in discovering the underlying roots of what’s really causing your struggles and how we can make change.

To do that, we’ll use a mix of attachment theory (how your early relationships shape your current ones), Internal Family Systems (IFS, or the exploration of the different parts of your mind and how they interact) and somatic work (figuring out where your body is physically storing stress or trauma). I also love working on executive functioning improvements for those struggling with ADHD/Autism!

Why “Change Your Mind Therapy”?

I named my practice because I believe true healing isn’t about learning how to be more positive and less negative, it’s about literally changing the landscape of your mind. The way you view yourself, interact with others, connect to your body, and relate to your thoughts, are capable of so much more flexibility and freedom than you realize!

We only have this one life to live, so why stay stuck in ways of thinking and behaving that cause you stress? Why not change your mind?

What Are Sessions Actually Like?

Therapy with me is a mix of enjoyable and challenging experiences. I connect with my clients deeply and use humor and camaraderie to create safety. But I will also deeply challenge your on their self-sabotaging behaviors, rigid thinking, and harmful belief systems.

You’ve read this far, which means we might just get along. Let’s find out for sure. I offer a completely free, zero-pressure 15-minute consultation. We’ll chat, see if we align, and figure out the next steps.
